MIDSUMMER MOZARTIADE
UDANA QUINTET
THE TIME OF A SERENADE
|
Making their third appearance at the festival, the Udana Quintet pursues their passion to bring their music to as many people as possible. This wind ensemble features five musician friends from multiple Belgian royal conservatories. After playing together in a number of orchestral projects, they decided to pursue their shared passion for chamber music by forming a quintet. The vast repertoire for wind quintet offers them a formidable playing field for developing a true group sound and original interpretations, full of zest and character, which bring out the best in each member. In the 18th century, wind ensembles were highly prized for their capacity to bring the hits of the day to drawing rooms and street corners. Echoing this fine tradition, the Udana Quintet invites us to linger in the gallery and let the music enchant us – the time of a serenade.
